All of the stuff fit for pixelsCities rethink wisdom of 50s-era parking standards
Yes yes yes yes!! This article by yahoo news (I know! wow.) enumerates a number of issues I've been meaning to gather into a thoughtful, drawn-out post. Basically the public subsidy of cars is destroying any possibility for modern American cities to develop more...
Child Commodity
Found this photo series by JeongMee Yoon incredibly disturbing. It makes me wonder -- if I had children how much I would invest in their frivolousness. It also makes me chillingly aware of the insane amount of products I must have owned as a child. I'm sure it would...
Body Art Illusions
Mighty Optical Illusions has some neat pictures of some ladies in camoflage against stylish and colorful patterns by Emma Hack.
Ever Wanted to Drive between North and South America?
Apparently its not completely possible. This lengthy but interesting (and pic filled) story from Dark Roasted Blend details the many many reasons why attempting such a trip is not only very challenging but nearly suicidal. A section of Southern Panama called the...

Color IQ Test
Kind of a nifty test that tests your ability to place colors in a spectrum. I thought I was color-blind partially to blue and greens but I seemed to do alright on the test, however, I'm still not exactly sure based upon the score how well I did. (via mari - diary)

What Makes for a Good Blog? via 43 Folders
43 Folders has a post that poses a pretty simple question: What Makes for a Good Blog? | 43 Folders Following this logic I'd have to conclude I have a pretty good if not good blog if I do say so myself though I always feel I'm not living up to my potential for "via"...
Mixwit a Muxtape replacement?
Found this nifty little muxtape-like site on pan-dan. It has a much better interface, graphics and is easier to share [on facebook and all over] than muxtape as well (rest its soul).
Near Future Labs Far from my Future
Not sure what is cooler. The fact that there is a post on Near Future Labratories detailing an opening in the History of Consciousness department at UCSC, my undergraduate alma mater in Film and Digital Media or the fact that one of the main contributers to the blog...

Ironic Sans: Ow, My Eyes!
O.K., O.K. I got the picture already about how you shouldn't format a blog with dark color backgrounds and white text. Hence my white background with black text on it in the new design. Thank you so much Anna and Jess for your endless criticisms -- not that either of...

California High Speed Rail Blog
If this election year had found me in California and you happened to be within earshot you would already be sick of hearing me talk about this. But as an ex-patriate and defector I find myself just tracking from afar. In a democracy, however, it is important to spark...
