Just received three DVDs in the mail from my mom: Though The Terminal is ostensively a comedy it has plenty of social commentary having explicitly to do with how complicated it can be for immigrants to visit the U.S. Hotel Rowanda deals with a major social problem– the Rowandan genocide, but isn’t a classical social problem film in that it, unfortunately, is completely based upon true events.
Traffic, however, is a social problem film in the most direct of ways. Can’t wait to dive into these tonight! For a bigger picture of what I plan on doing this evening see below.
